Dogs, cats, horses and cattle. Same-day sick visits, surgery and dentistry done in house, and a truck that comes out to the barn three days a week.
A photo from the week β a patient going home, a new litter in the carrier, a morning farm call. We put up a new one most weeks. Ask about the name tags on the string by the front door; every one of them went home.

Preventive care, surgery, dentistry and diagnostics under one roof β and a farm truck for the ones that won't fit through the door.

Dr. Ellen Sowder opened Redbud in 1997 in an old feed store on the east edge of Norman with one exam table, a borrowed x-ray unit and a stock trailer parked out back. The trailer's gone. The table is still in room two, and she still takes the Thursday farm calls herself.
Two veterinarians and five technicians now, most of them here longer than a decade. That's the whole point β your animal isn't starting over with a stranger every visit, and when you call at eight in the morning worried, the person answering already knows the name.
β Dr. Ellen Sowder & the Redbud teamMost of what makes a vet visit bearable has nothing to do with medicine.
If something's wrong today, we see them today. Slots are held open every morning for exactly that.
You get the plan, the alternatives and a written estimate first. No decisions made for you and no invoice surprises.
Horses, cattle, goats and sheep. Scheduled farm calls Tuesday, Thursday and Friday across Cleveland County.
A small team that doesn't turn over. They remember which dog hates the scale and which cat needs the towel.
Species, rough age, and what's going on. We'll get you a time β same day if they're unwell, this week for wellness, dentals and farm calls.

Call for anything urgent; the phone is answered by someone in the building, not a service. For farm work, tell us how many head and how far out you are and we'll fit you into a route day.
We'll be in touch.
